We collaborated with Bob DiMartino of Outdoor Lighting Perspectives and Brian Connors & Compan to create a beautiful outdoor retreat in New Canaan, CT. The end result was featured in "Serendipity Magazine" - an upscale lifestyle magazine that covers Fairfield County, CT.

Who would have thunk! How cool is this! We were lucky enough to find a supplier of gem quality stone. Notably Brazilian Amethysts – Quartz crystals which not only possess a positively magical effect and stunning visual, but add a sparkling dimension to our water features. This is just a teaser of how phenomenal an effect working with these astoundingly splendid natural minerals has on our emotions.

Bedford, NY, a beautiful idyllic setting in northern Westchester County, NY features a winding brook along the property border with the neighboring BLR Riding Trail. In a steep gorge a large Catalpa Tree (103 yr. by reading tree rings) fell, blocking the stream and diverting its course causing erosion and slope failure. Working in a protected and regulated wetland we (as contractors) are prohibited from using power tools (i.e. chain saws and gas/oil powered equipment).

Once a landscape plan is accepted by a client and permit work is approved (if applicable, see upcoming permitting issues), the next critically important first step is to call Dig Safely to locate/mark utilities. Then install/erect site protection. Check the Town/State Building codes to determine what is required. Any area of disturbance should be protected during construction.

This year our biggest growth area/department has been our 'General Contracting & Construction Division.' In addition to the usual extensive excavation, drainage/waterproofing, masonry, driveway/road construction and repair we were engaged in custom carpentry, remodeling, electric, plumbing, roofing, etc.

By a combination of luck and community outreach we were able to trade and barter with a local builder to obtain several tons of most excellent quality stone for construction of naturalistic rip rap retaining walls for our landscape project.
